Place des Arts
Carter Hales was tasked with creating an identity imbued with the warm, vibrant, and welcoming atmosphere for which Place des Arts is known.
In order to base the new identity on solid conceptual ground, our design agency conducted interviews with board members, staff and teachers. We discovered an essential insight: Place des Arts is more than a school, it is a second home. As a result, the logo chosen is an icon of the school itself—a symbol for home.
The identity is surrounded by clean, colourful illustrations that combine mountains, trees, rivers and water with guitars, paintbrushes, pianos and pencils. Place and art are presented in harmony.
The illustrations are simple, bright and playful. Staff can quickly rearrange the art to suit their communication needs.
